- Distribution: Native in the southern half of California, usually within 50 miles of the coast. Found in the South Coast Ranges, western Transverse Ranges, San Gabriel Mountains, Peninsular Ranges, and Baja.
- Natural Habitat: Usually exposed, rocky, dry areas in chaparral and coastal sage scrub below 3000'. In drier, southern parts of its range, it can be found closer to semi-riparian areas.
